Devil’s Meadow (muscle and joint fatigue)

R120,00

Designed for those who work hard and feel it in their bones, Devil’s Meadow  is a handcrafted, high-potency herbal extract formulated to target deep structural discomfort, joint stiffness, and muscle fatigue. By blending classic systemic anti-inflammatories with warming circulatory drivers, this formulation helps bring your body back to balance after a long day of physical labor on the land.

This blend is lovingly made in small, traditional batches right here at Back to Basics Homestead. We focus on pure, single-ingredient-driven, and time-honored preparations without synthetic fillers or processed additives so that you get the raw, uncompromised power of nature.

Why It Works: The Botanical Synergy
Devil’s Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens):
As the cornerstone of this blend, Devil’s Claw is a highly respected, deeply acting systemic anti-inflammatory. It specifically targets deep joint discomfort, stubborn physical stiffness, and the general wear-and-tear that comes from intense physical labor.

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria):
Meadowsweet brings direct comfort to the blend. It is naturally rich in salicylate compounds—the organic precursors to modern aspirin—making it incredibly effective at soothing throbbing muscles, structural tension, and vascular head tension.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale):
Ginger acts as the warming circulatory “driver” of the formula. By gently dilating blood vessels and boosting local circulation, it ensures that the active pain-relieving compounds of the other herbs are carried quickly and efficiently to the target tissues where you need them most.

Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea):
Soreness and stiffness are often accompanied by localized cellular congestion. Echinacea is included to act as a gentle lymphatic mover, supporting the body’s natural pathways to clear out metabolic waste from tired, overworked muscles, thereby speeding up your recovery.

Directions for Use & Dosage
Because this is a highly concentrated botanical extract, a little goes a long way. For a standard dose, take 1 to 2 ml (approximately 30 to 60 drops) in a small splash of water.
If you are looking for acute recovery after a heavy day of manual labor or when actively experiencing joint throbbing, take 2 ml (60 drops) immediately. You can repeat this dose every 3 to 4 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 4 times a day. For consistent, ongoing daily maintenance, take 1 ml (30 drops) 2 to 3 times a day.
As an apothecary tip, taking your dose in warm water helps dissipate the strong alcohol taste of the extraction. We highly recommend taking this tincture with or shortly after a meal to protect sensitive stomachs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this if I have an aspirin sensitivity?
No, you should not. Meadowsweet naturally contains salicylic acid compounds, which are chemically similar to aspirin. If you have a known allergy or sensitivity to aspirin, please do not use this blend.

Can I take this tincture on an empty stomach?
We strongly recommend taking Devil’s Meadow Restore alongside food or shortly after eating. Devil’s Claw is naturally bitter and stimulates gastric enzymes and stomach acid, while Meadowsweet can sometimes irritate an empty, sensitive stomach.

Is this blend safe for people with stomach ulcers?
No. This formulation is not suitable for individuals with active gastric or duodenal ulcers. The bitter compounds in Devil’s Claw actively stimulate stomach acid production, which can exacerbate ulcer symptoms.

What does Devil’s Meadow Restore taste like?
It features a highly robust, deeply earthy, and distinctly bitter flavor from the combination of Devil’s Claw and Meadowsweet. This deep bitterness is rounded out by a sharp, fiery, and warming kick from the ginger.

Because we extract these plants using high-quality alcohol, your tincture is incredibly stable. When stored upright in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight, it will remain fully potent and safe to use for 3 to 5 years.

Why is Echinacea included in a joint and muscle recovery blend?
Physical exertion and muscle strain can cause fluid and metabolic waste to build up in localized tissues, leading to that heavy, stiff feeling. Echinacea is a wonderful lymphatic stimulant that helps keep these fluids moving, assisting your body in sweeping away waste so you can bounce back faster.
Apothecary Warning: Keep out of reach of children. Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you are pregnant, nursing, taking blood-thinning medications, or have a history of gallstones or active stomach ulcers.

Store upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
